Auckland furniture movers – a firm quotation in writing

With furniture movers, it’s important that they give you a written quotation. Lots of furniture movers simple give you an estimate over the phone.

They will ask you a few questions about the size of your current home, the number of rooms and so on. They will ask similar questions about where you are moving to. From that they will give you an estimate.

That’s fine for drawing up a short-list but before you commit and book a furniture moving company, get a firm written quote. The last thing you want after a busy and stressful day moving house is for the furniture movers to hit you with a big bill.

It’s obvious but it’s worth stating, the best way to make sure the furniture movers don’t charge more than you are expecting is to have them come to your house and make a visual assessment of the amount of furniture and boxes you want shifted.

Another benefit of having them come to your place is that they can see the access. For some places, for example where I used to live in Auckland, there are lots of steep drives. This can make a difference to the time they will need and perhaps even the number of people they need.

So for peace of mind, ask your preferred furniture movers to come to your home and give you a written price before you engage them.
