Auckland furniture movers – a firm quotation in writing

With furniture movers, it’s important that they give you a written quotation. Lots of furniture movers simple give you an estimate over the phone.

They will ask you a few questions about the size of your current home, the number of rooms and so on. They will ask similar questions about where you are moving to. From that they will give you an estimate.

That’s fine for drawing up a short-list but before you commit and book a furniture moving company, get a firm written quote. The last thing you want after a busy and stressful day moving house is for the furniture movers to hit you with a big bill.

It’s obvious but it’s worth stating, the best way to make sure the furniture movers don’t charge more than you are expecting is to have them come to your house and make a visual assessment of the amount of furniture and boxes you want shifted.

Another benefit of having them come to your place is that they can see the access. For some places, for example where I used to live in Auckland, there are lots of steep drives. This can make a difference to the time they will need and perhaps even the number of people they need.

So for peace of mind, ask your preferred furniture movers to come to your home and give you a written price before you engage them.

Choosing the Best Furniture Movers in Auckland

I recently moved house and I have to say, that the Auckland furniture removal company I chose were fantastic.

I picked Metromove from Torbay on The North Shore for a number of reasons.

They gave me confidence in them even before the house moving itself, because they quickly answered my email inquiry compared to the other furniture movers, some of whom didn't reply at all! If they can't be bothered to answer your request quckly, then what kind of service are they going to give you?

After we chatted, Paul Barron, the owner, arranged to come round and made an assessment of the amount of furniture to shift.

We set the time and date and then the next day he confirmed it again. Then the night before the move, he rang to check the house move was still on. That's great service.

One the day, they arrived as arranged and quickly began moving the furniture into the removal vans. Then the removalists, drove to the new house and unloaded at the other end.

The guys were very friendly, polite and, most importantly, very careful moving the furniture.

Metromove are definitely one the best furniture moving companies in Auckland.
